anger には動詞と名詞がありますが、動詞は他動詞しかないので、「怒っている」というときは, angeringとは言わず、形容詞のangryを使うという認識でいいのでしょうか。また、smileは自動詞で smiley（にこやかな）という形容詞しかなく、これは限定用法に限られるので、「笑っている」というとき、現在分詞の smiling を使うという認識でいいのでしょうか。そこでですが、She is angry. は文型は SVC で納得がいくのですが、She is smiling. もSVC と考えて大丈夫でしょうか。She smiled. はSVとわかりますが、She is smiling. をSVと言っている人がいて混乱しています。She is smiling. は She is angry. と「笑っている」か「怒っているか」の違いだけなので同じ文型SVCでじゃないの？と、なぜSVCではなくてSVなのかきいても答えてくれません。どなたか納得いくように教えていただけないでしょうか。

所有格についての質問です。 The distinctive mutations that fuel a person's cancer may result in its undoing. この its は a person's cancer を指していると思うのですが、its undoing のところがわかりません。undoは他動詞なので、目的格が所有格になるパターンと解釈していいのでしょうか。
